Historic Montford Community
 
The Montford neighborhood is a living history of Asheville, North Carolina. It is one of the largest historic districts in the state with over 600 contributing structures, the majority of which were built between 1890 and 1925. Architectural styles include Victorian, Arts and Crafts, Tudor, Georgian and Colonial Revival. Eleven Bed and Breakfast Inns enhance the neighborhood and invite visitors to stay and enjoy Montford, which is just across I-240 from downtown Asheville. Historic Riverside Cemetery is also located in Montford. It is the final resting place of many notable residents including Thomas Wolfe and O'Henry. Walking Tours

Montford Architecture/History Tour
Step back in time to glimpse the history of Asheville. Come along on a walking architecture/history tour of Montford which includes a surprise visit to a bed and breakfast inn. Tours leave from Montford Park located on Montford Avenue across from Watauga.

Riverside Cemetery Tour
Also available is a tour of landscaped Historic Riverside Cemetery — 87 acres of rolling hills overlooking the French Broad River. Riverside Cemetery dates to 1885. Tours meet at the Cemetery Gate
